Since 1965 Mafra has aimed to passionately enhance and protect international automotive heritage, which has manifested by combining Made in Italy with cosmetics for cars. Mafra has its roots in the distant half of the sixties. The entrepreneurial instincts of its founder, Gianfranco Mattioli, told him to transfer the principles of human cosmetics into a totally new field, and thus was born the famous slogan “cosmetics for your car.”

What was called cosmetics at the time, is today called detailing.
